This journal analyzes how Instagram influences the worship attire of Christian teenagers, especially regarding motivation, self-presentation, and spiritual implications. Drawing from a field survey of approximately 50 respondents and supported by theoretical frameworks such as Goffman’s The Presentation of Self, Baym’s analysis of digital culture, and theological reflections from Bradshaw, Luther, Clement of Alexandria, and the HKBP hymn BE No. 31 verse 2, this study demonstrates that Instagram significantly shapes how teenagers perceive “ideal worship appearance.” Many respondents indicated that Instagram creates pressure to look aesthetically pleasing or fashionable during worship as part of impression management and digital identity construction. However, theological sources and liturgical traditions emphasize humility, inward holiness, and sincere devotion rather than external display. This journal argues that the tension between digital culture and liturgical modesty invites churches to provide guidance, theological education, and pastoral formation regarding Christian identity in the digital age. The findings highlight the need for contextual pastoral strategies that help teenagers balance cultural expression with authentic worship grounded in faith, humility, and the integrity of the heart.
